It's even worse than we imagined...
-
Hiya Mickey, the new post went up so fast I hadn’t commented on the last one. I never thought I’d be so inspired by an article about a Sting song!
I read recently that there are more cows in Brazil than people.
“Now Class, Can you name a common rainforest animal?...yes Billy?”
“A Cow?”P.S. My Sister is going to New York in May with her running club. Running and doing work-outs around the City for a week. She’s a veggie too.

Thanks, Rick. The Sting post was up for 3 days but with few comments so I tried something new.
Let me know when your sister hits town. Maybe I can arrange to say hi?

If Al Gore could get another Nobel for dissing meat, he’d be all over it.
That Nation video about climate change could have used some shots of methane bubbling up through Alaskan lakes.
For something a little less horrifying, “Exit Through The Gift Shop” is an epic documentary about street art. Highly recommended.
Three years late, Patton Oswalt finally rips into Obama: http://tinyurl.com/2eg5dzr He’s got to do more material about the Pope of Hope.

I 2nd Exit Through The Gift Shop - I hear rumors it’s gonna be a contender for the Best Documentary Oscar.
Now if only the documentaries on [peak everything] / [financial implosion] / [sustainability] / [political & commercial misbehavior] had that kind of style, we might be in business (well...out of business, but in a functioning biosphere)

Good morning everyone. I’ve been scanning the various headlines and boy, things are truly insane.
The most zombified individual on this planet could draw the conclusions about the violence generated by u.s.a. everywhere in the universe.

Don’t you just love it when the Pope of Hope takes a few minutes off from blowing up babies in Afghanistan to talk about “innocent victims”?

Mickey, 6...yes, this is what we’ve been discussing. The numerous, childish examples of the ‘pot calling the kettle black.’
All of this would be damn near unbelievable if I didn’t know people who wouldn’t see the QE II if it was parked across the street.

Mornin’ Mickey, joe, Rick, Zen, Sub, and all…
Yes, that is the main thing that bothered me. How is it that such compassion can (and should be shown) to those in Arizona, while at the same time we continue to slaughter the children in other countries. Proof, that US citizens do NOT believe that all are created equal. Your worth depends on the location of your Mother at the time of your birth.
Mourin’ in the mornin’....

Here’s another example of the corruption and Hypocrisy.
The criminals and millionaires can steel, embezzle, extort but the Veterans Administration can stand the thought of a veteran getting one god damn penny from them. This is revealed in a notice I just received from the death squads.
The rotting stench of it all.

joe...I am sorry to hear that. There seems to be a “catch 22” anytime a little guy tries to get anything he deserves from the government. Bureaucrats are just politicians with job security.

That blows, joe. I can sorta relate:
This morning, after voicing my disgust about finding work, I got an e-mail reply from someone at the (useless) state employment office: “The only sure way not to get hired is by not applying.” Really? I thought it was living in a plutocracy where they’ve stolen every damn thing but the manhole covers. We’ll see if that state employee tune changes when some teabagger genius decides “If there are no jobs, why have an employment office? Duh!”
Nice to see a good turnout today.

I was just about to type and noticed the captcha, no joke, “soviet”.

...ok, the captcha is now, “letter” so I think it’s ok to write now.
I can’t bear to watch the BBC News, its horrified me so many times with its awful reporting that it repulses me.
I think the worst thing is that I know that millions of people will be watching it and using it as their main (only?) News source. The last time I watche da bit of the BBC News I said out loud: “No...no...bull!...no” It’s like watching a more sophisticated version of Fox News. It’s like Fox News for intelligent people, but equally as shite.
