Happy Flag Day
-
I wonder when KR ONE did those model train cars...I used to hang with a posse in the UK who ran a lively independent clothing, skateboard and snowboard manufacturer/distributor/shop and team called d0pe. They were pretty successful in Japan through the 90s, and used to create collectible art specifically for that market...one of the limited editions was a run of “Hornby” model train cars graffiti’d by (Mr) Nylon.
Sadly I can’t find any internet images of them...but here is an example of his work (the skateboards are d0pe and spin-off FSU)
Bill Hicks was, coincidentally, one of his favorite comics…

The reason Bill Hicks is a demigod is we haven’t yet caught up with him. Bruce, Carlin, Pryor all sound dated - still important, but period pieces. America stopped evolving and we’ll know it’s resumed when sitcoms and CNN do Hicks material. I’m not holding my hot-particle-laced breath.
That clip made me think of Paul Mooney, who has a great bit about graffiti, which I can’t find or do justice to. Briefly: “Black kids = graffiti. White men = Mt. Rushmore.”
“You Can Be White Up Here” Dept: I did find this gem, however: http://tinyurl.com/43gdsm8

Can we toss Bibles in the fire as well?

Hello, subgenius, Zen Prole, Charles and
Cool Observer - like your suggestion in #3, Charles - is there any atrocity in human history which has not been justified with the bible? There is now almost as much flag-waving (and militarisation of society) going on in Australia as in the US, sad to say.
Keep up the good work, Mickey - and keep commenting, all you expendables!

Charles for the win. Helga, we’ve done everything except literally build jails out of bibles. There are rumors, however.
Flags, Bibles, and Tribes Dept: This video is along the lines of the new documentary “I Am.” http://tinyurl.com/2af6vwg It’s very convincing. Was there something he missed?

Hello everyone. I was trying to communicate and I realized I couldn’t find anything to say until my friend asked me how many beans I wanted on my salad. Suddenly I became aware that I didn’t know how to spell teaspoon. I didn’t need to spell teaspoon, I simply needed to say it. This awakened state to my reality took place while sitting on the toilet and it certainly needs to be examined closely.

Thanks, all. Another thread loaded with provocations.
subgenius: I believe he did these works relatively recently.
Zen: Love your take on Hicks.
