The logic of democracy?
-
Hmmm Democracy.
Half of the US Party has sullied the word Democratic with a capital D.
We hear lots about “democracy” in ironic speech marks from our leaders.
It’s still a very powerful word though.Did you see the film footage of the Egyptians picking up rubbish to keep the square clean? They were sorting out the plastic bottles for recycling.
I take it as a good character reference for El Baradei that the US and UK supported Mubarak...and now we’re changing to support the old man who was chief liaison with Israel. If the US and UK Govs don’t like El Baradei, then he might actually be good, or at least a little independent. He surely wouldn’t be likey to back a war on Iran over alleged nuclear ambitions.
Don’t just interpret the world, change it!

I’m not so sure the US isn’t pulling ElBaradei’s strings, Rick

Good evening Mickey and Rick.
I was just asking the question, what kind of society have we enabled, not expecting an answer.
I found this poem while speaking about expressing ourselves honestly, which in america is unexpected.
‘We wear a mask that grins and lies
It hides our cheeks and shades our eyes
This debt we pay to human guile
With torn and bleeding hearts we smile’How we relinquish our basic humanity by fear of expressing our true feelings.

HI Dissertation, Joe, Mickey, Rick, and all…
Good topic again today. It is always amazing to me how much misinformation is out there. A BIG one is that we go to war to protect our freedom. Good book to dispel that one - The Profiteers of War by Hartung (maybe I got the names wrong). I can’t count the number of times I have said that war is just a gigantic money laundering scheme - taking money from taxpayers, giving it to other nations with the agreement that it will be used only for USA manufactured weapon systems… So the cycle is complete and Wall Street wins. People die.
Joe...I know your feeling about TV and I agree sort of but wanted to mention that one of the best reports that I have ever seen on TV (years ago and I still think about it) was about the Maine Social Services System. Frontline on PBS did an incredible job of telling the story of a young POOR, single mother who never abused her children. Her little girl was taken from her by the State. The little girl wound up being duct taped to a chair in the basement by the STATE child protective worker. The little girl was found dead. The child protective worker was eventually prosecuted. This really is a report that everyone should see. It explains a lot about how the system does not work to the benefit of any, except the government bureaucrats.

Wow...Developing news - Texas needs power from Mexico to keep the lights on. Mex just said NO to TEX.........
Vermont gets power from Canada.
How can the U$A be a anything but a third world country when it cannot even keep the lights on. Well, I guess the US has been in the dark for a long time…

Hello RMJ...It’s all insane. It’s so damn insane If what’s happening in Egypt was happening here, with the cluelessness, people would be attacking their own right arm with their left arm.

If we hit the streets here, most Americans would be lining up to help police round us up and shoot us. Most liberals would be pretending nothing is happening.

On that note, I just put up a new post. See you there.
