Planet of the Dammed

  1. A HUGE shout out to Helga and Mr. Helga.

Dammed Perceptions Dept: While visiting LA, the Malibu Lagoon “restoration” was in the Weekly - much contention about how to “repair” human damage to a popular seaside spot. Left out of the discussion is the upstream problem of the Rindge Dam, a privately-installed, sediment-filled eyesore that’s blocking water flow and fish migration. There are the usual land speculators and careerist “scientists” at work, so it looks like another project that will produce more questions than answers. http://tinyurl.com/43oa5px

Out here in Washington, there’s a little progress: the removal of the Elwha River dams has begun. I hope they close all access to the river for a few decades so the salmon can recover. http://tinyurl.com/3sd23ac

“Here comes trouble...” is a great photo. For a successful rebellion, we need to harness kitten energy and tactics.

  2. Hi Mickey, Zen, and all…

Great photos. I really like the one with Helga also the WikiLeaks truck.  Please tell more about what is happening on Wall Street.

Lots of issues with dams during the hurricane.  I could write a book about FEMA, but I won’t. It would be too depressing.

Just had to replace my computer system. Having some glitches with Windows 7. Every computer should come with a 12 year-old boy for teck support.  Still on slow dial-up.  If its not too much trouble, please give a brief description when posting a video. Slow dial-up means I miss a lot, but don’t have another option.

  3. Dam quiet here. Is everyone out occupying? If so, you’ll love the post I just put up.

    See you there.
