"Darker Shade of Green" event: April 30

Posted by Mickey Z on 05/01 at 08:02 AM
  1. Good morning Mickey and all…

There was never any doubt that last night would be a good one for you!  You were great last night (but I bet you hear that often.)(Sorry for being so irreverent)

About today’s poem...it is my favorite of all you have written. The line about ‘the warning cry of a blue whale’ almost brought tears to my eyes. About ‘collective consciousness’ - there are some new theories about that. I have often observed the way birds seems to think collectively while flying in formation. They all seem to get the message to change direction at precisely the same moment. They don’t just follow the leader. This always amazes me. Also schools of fish do the same thing.

Today is Workers Day and also my late father’s 105th birthday. Happy Birthday, Dad.

Mickey, if I mail a check will you send me an autographed copy of your new book. Should I use the same address I just used? If not e-mail me the right one, please. Thanks.

  2. Thanks, RMJ. I am pretty proud of that poem.

And yes, you have the correct address so I’d be thrilled to sign a book for you. Just send me enough to cover postage and we’re good.

  3. Hello RMJ and everyone. Happy late birthday brother! I knew it was coming but the days go by so freaking fast in magical babyland! I hope you had a good vegan cake and that all is well.

Let me know if you have another event in NYC (or DC?) this summer. We will probably be visiting our friends in Brooklyn soon.

Breaking NEWS: Predator Drones --in a targeted strike--just killed Elvis in his secret Reno bunker!

  4. Maxwell 3, I just read the Elvis story. Elvis has been the problem of course, the reason why americans don’t have health care, dental care, poverty, the reason for discrimination of all sorts in america, Elvis is why there is no equality, legitimate votes, the denial of life itself. Elvis is the reason for 300 million, long faced, depressed americans, Elvis is the reason for extortion by corporations, that is popularly referred to as our economy, Elvis is to blame for millions of prisoners in america, red necks in Maine and, red necks who drive BMS’s in any city, usa. The list goes on and on, Elvis is the reason why there is an endless of problems in america, ignored by the deciders and dictators. In fact, if it weren’t for Elvis, Monsanto would not care about controlling world food supplies. I’m convinced if it weren’t for Elvis, the Maine Turnpike authority head jackass would not have embezzled so much money over the period of 23 years. Elvis forced catholic priests in Massachusettes to get closer to little boys. And all the people who said Elvis died over 11 years ago were wrong. Maybe this is one of those thousands of Elvis impersonators?

  5. Wow...and I didn’t even know Jack Ruby was still alive.

Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria  on  05/02  at  05:05 AM
  6. Okay, I think I’ve got all the facts now: Elvis fired a predator drone from the book depository window and it sent Neil Armstrong to the moon where he created AIDS. And that’s why building 7 collapsed.

  7. Is it kind of like taking out the Pope and assuming that the abortion bombers will stop?

Will “Terror” be the boogey man now? Without a face to associate it with? Or will we have something new, like a war on “Ambushes”, that’s a tactic too.

I’d have followed where dialysis machine spare parts were going, and have arrested him years ago.

  8. I wonder who fabricated today’s headlines? What lies will follow? How long will the effect of , the strategy for this latest lie stand?

Will they tie him to the fender of a black limousine and parade him down Pennsylvania Ave like a deer hunter transports his victim?

If I go to an emergency ward today for treatment, will the cost, the penalty for existing, be on the house? Such bullshit!

  9. Another terrorist is dead today too.
Orlando Bosch, US-backed anti-Cuban terrorist. Bosch and Luis Posada Carriles blew up a passenger plane amongst other things. Bosch was allowed to live free in Florida...Posada Carriles still lives free in the US.

Pakistan allowed a terrorist to live freely in its territory? Wouldn’t be the only one.

  10. First thing this morning my phone was ringing. It was the Press wanting my statement about the killing of OBL. Among other things I said that my view would be in the extreme minority. I oppose all killing… especially political assassinations. OBL could have been arrested and put on Trial. This should not be a time for celebration, but rather a time for quiet reflection and public discussion on US foreign policy. Blowback is sure to be a result. Even the government says we are less safe today than we were yesterday. If the CIA had offices in the WTC did that make it a legitimate military target? The reporter asked me how this will affect the ‘peace movement’. I told him that where I live they only protest war when the commander-in-chief is a republican. There is no peace movement now. Tomorrow I will see if I have been quoted or misquoted.

I guess this will insure the re-election of Obama. While the MIC celebrates this new windfall, I will plant some flowers.

  11. Rick 9, Orlando Bosch/Bush is dead or is he hiding at George H. vacation home?

OBL...What about the reports, 2 that I remember stating he died by natural causes in 2000. The last one I read was bout 5 years ago. No, I didn’t take notes, I don’t remember who wrote these statements. I wonder if anyone is snickering in Tel Aviv?

To hell with this OBL diversionary headline, I want to see all them bums in D.C. tried for war crimes immediately.

  12. Dear Mickey Z,

My name is Barbara O’Brien and I am a political blogger.  Just had a question about your blog and couldn’t find an email—please get back to me as soon as you can (barbaraobrien(at)maacenter.org)

  14. Okay, I’m sucked into this. Last week we had the prince and princess carnival, now we have the corporate media’s telling us how to ‘think’ and how to ‘feel’.

    Small town newspaper headlines:
    “Americans are united once again”

    We are? How, Why?

    “Mission Accomplished”

    “Nation Celebrates Osama’s death”

“Mid-Coast reacts with relief, eye to future”

    “Bush congratulates Obama”

This is on the front page with various people interviewed saying things they think others might want to here.

    This is really pathetic!

Sally has an inguinal hernia and needs surgery, has no insurance of any kind. Should Sally bite the bullet and celebrate the headlines or should she ask why murder is the only thing on americans minds, sanctioned death, by war, by incompetent medical profession and everyone is so easily distracted by the degenerate reality that has nothing to do with the headlines.

  15. Congratulations, Mickey - and good morning/afternoon, Rosemarie, Maxwell, Joe of Maine, Rick the Cartoonist and Barbara O’Brien.

I simply HAD to turn off the radio - our public broadcaster no less - because I could not stand their triumphalist reporting and only asking certain ‘experts’, needless to say.  And very little context was actually given.  However, if you want to read really intelligent commentary about things Australia, go here:

Keep up the good spirit, all of you!

  16. Lively comments all around. Maybe we could use a repeat: waste trillions of dollars on war and implode constitutional freedoms and due process while staging a manhunt for a middle-aged propaganda minister on dialysis that the CIA met in a Dubai hospital in summer 2001 while he was wanted for terrorist attacks, then finally killed ten years after several thousand people with the latest technology and endless resources struggled to prove his whereabouts only three blocks from the Pakistani military academy. Nothing to see here, folks, just the triumphant daily meanderings of your empire.

The Pavlov-nationalist factor (PNF) on this one is just off the chart. I hear Donald Trump is now planning a midnight helicopter raid on Bermuda. “Their hotels suck,” he announced, “And we’re gonna make sure they don’t do it again.”

Seth Meyers is awesome here: http://tinyurl.com/5sfzhfo

  17. Hi Zen..."The Pavlov-nationalist factor (PNF) on this one is just off the chart.”

Yep and scary. Is the next stage, fighting off the Revenge for the death of..., and another 40 countries attacked and looted? “We’re hunting someone, we don’t know who it is but we’ll know him when we find him.”
